Daily Monitoring for Bipolar Disorder Management
Consistent self-monitoring is one of the most effective strategies for managing bipolar disorder. Tracking your mood, sleep, and early warning signs each day helps you and your treatment team identify patterns, catch episodes early, and evaluate how well your current plan is working. Use this log daily, ideally at the same time each evening.
Each day, rate your overall mood on the 1–10 scale (1 = severely depressed, 5 = neutral/stable, 10 = severely elevated/manic). Record your sleep times and note any warning signs or symptoms you observed. Bring completed logs to appointments for review with your provider.
