Daily Strengths and Positivity Log

A week-long journaling practice to build self-worth and positive self-awareness

Self-esteem develops not through vague positive affirmations but through consistent attention to evidence of competence, connection, and growth. Research on positive journaling interventions (Emmons & McCullough, 2023; Southwick et al., 2020) shows that writing about daily achievements, enjoyable moments, and sources of pride rewires attentional patterns away from chronic self-criticism and toward a more balanced, accurate self-view. Use this journal daily for at least one week, answering the prompts each day to build a concrete record of your strengths.

How to Use This Journal

  1. Set aside five to ten minutes at the end of each day, ideally at a consistent time.
  2. Answer the three prompts for that day honestly. Entries do not need to describe extraordinary events; small, everyday moments count.
  3. Write at least one complete sentence for each prompt. The act of articulating the experience matters more than literary quality.
  4. At the end of the week, review all entries and notice any patterns in what brings you satisfaction, pride, and joy.
